Saint-Adrien: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Trieux Valley, together with the Sullé Valley, is part of Saint-Adrien’s outstanding natural heritage and attracts numerous hikers.

Culture and history

The parish church of Saint-Rion/Saint-Adrien is located in the village of Saint-Adrien. Its choir dates from 1480, and the church was rebuilt in 1869. The western portal, dating from the late 15th or early 16th century, was reused from the former church. The building also features a mixed masonry construction of granite and slate.

The Chapelle Saint-Jean-Baptiste is located in Le Lézard in Saint-Adrien. It probably dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century.

Only the base of the cemetery cross is old; the column bearing the figure of Christ dates from the beginning of the 20th century. The base of the cemetery cross in Saint-Adrien has been listed as part of the Monument historique since 22 February 1927.

The Kermorzu manor house in Saint-Adrien was built in the 16th century and later altered. An old Gallo-Roman road also runs through Saint-Adrien, leading from the north of the département to Vorgium.

A Gallo-Roman statue of the Greco-Roman god Mercury was accidentally found in a field near the centre of Saint-Adrien, on the Roman road between Plésidy and Saint-Adrien; only the lower part has survived.

Nature and landscape

North of Saint-Adrien, the Bois de Kerauffret forms part of the wooded landscape. To the west of Saint-Adrien, the Bois de Coat Liou includes peat bogs.

Saint-Adrien has numerous sunken lanes and a well-preserved, remarkable rural environment. The relatively straight but steep Voie Napoléon between Guingamp and Pontivy passes through Saint-Adrien and is used by numerous cyclists.

Experiences

The Coat Maudez riding farm offers horseback and pony rides and excursions all year round. At the Coat Maudez riding centre, rides follow wooded paths through the Trieux Valley; tours are available for one hour, three hours, or as a full-day excursion with lunch in the forest.

On the Trail en Argoat, the section between the 7th and 9th kilometres runs from the Coat Maudez site to the Moulin des Forges.
