Nature

History

The Chapelle Saint-Lubin was built in the 16th century and features a monumental cross dating from the 17th century. The Forge Saint-Eloi, le Vaublanc was founded in 1675 by François de Farcy.

The Chapelle Saint-Jacques was built in 1872 by the architect Maignan, who came from Saint-Brieuc. It is partially protected as a historic monument; it was listed on 22 February 1927. The Saint-Jacques Cross in Plémet dates from the 18th century and was placed under monument protection by decree of 22 February 1927.

The Roman road towards Coëtlogon is a section of the route connecting Corseul and Vannes. The Église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul was built between 1894 and 1896 according to plans by the architect Ernest Le Guerranic. The Chapelle Saint-Sauveur in Saint-Sauveur-le-Bas was rebuilt in 1895.

Traditions

Historic pilgrimage routes through Plémet were lined with chapels that served as rest stops for pilgrims. The Pardon Saint-Sauveur is celebrated in Plémet on the first Sunday in July and includes a Mass.

The monks of the Abbaye de Lanthénac in La Ferrière helped Plémet flourish again by spreading flax cultivation and its processing into linen.
