Brelidy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The municipality of Brélidy consists of a fertile plateau bordered to the west by the Jaudy and to the east by its tributary, the Théoulas.

Landscape and History

The deeply incised valleys of the Jaudy and the Théoulas, with their wooded slopes, meet in the north at the foot of a hill. From the 9th to the 14th century, this hill was home to a motte castrale and subsequently a feudal castle; since the 16th century, an elegant manor house in the Breton Renaissance style has stood there.

The Château de Brélidy offers stays in a landscaped park covering 40 hectares.

Culture

The present-day Saint-Colomban Church was built in 1884 on the site of an earlier building dating from 1727. The church contains a 17th-century processional banner made of velvet and silk, which was classified as a historic monument on 13 December 1971.

The Chapelle Saint-Pabu, Saint-Tugdual in Kerbiguet was built in the 18th century and contains an altarpiece. At the Manoir An Noblans, Ty ar Bonniec, the northern building dates from the second half of the 16th century and the western building from the first half of the 17th century.

Trails

The “Circuit à travers le Théoulas” circular route includes the Neolithic Menhir de Camarel. Tro an daou dour offers three circular hiking and mountain biking routes, most of which run through the territory of Brélidy.
