Svratka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Svratka combines a nature trail with historical insights, art and riverside landscapes. The “Svratka, její historie a příroda” nature trail is a 3.35-kilometre circular route with 12 stops and information boards. It begins at náměstí 9. května in Svratka.

Culture and History

The Svratka Town Museum focuses primarily on the interwar period, post-war trade, regional history and local crafts. The Church of St John the Baptist also has a long history: it was probably originally a wooden Gothic-style building and is mentioned around 1350. During renovations in 1789, it acquired its present appearance. Its bell tower houses the Panna Maria bell from 1480.

The Miloš Novotný Gallery permanently displays more than 90 paintings, including oil paintings and watercolours focusing on motifs from the Žďárské vrchy as well as expressive and abstract works. The Vysočina Painters’ Gallery opened in 2006 and presents works by artists with regional connections, complemented by sculptures and natural growth forms.

Nature

Přírodní zahrada Svratka is a park on the left bank of the Svratka River with wetlands and wooden walkways. In the area around the Svratka River, reintroduced native trees and plants provide a habitat primarily for birds and amphibians.

Activities

The Koupaliště in Svratka has an artificial pool measuring 50 × 12.5 metres. It is a public swimming area with no admission charge. The Golfové hřiště Svratka is also part of the local landscape: it is one of the oldest golf courses in the Czech Republic and has a nine-hole course, a driving range and practice areas for putting and chipping.

In winter, Svratka’s cross-country ski trails are regularly groomed with snowmobiles and piste groomers for both classic skiing and skating.
