Koroužné: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Koroužné lies in the Svratka Valley south of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. At Koroužné, the Svratka forms a bend from northeast to southwest around the municipality.

Landscape

About half a kilometre upstream from Koroužné, the Svratka forms the Hastrmanka pond. According to local tradition, it is associated with a water spirit.

Culture

The Korouženská adit is 104 metres long. It lies about 200 metres northeast of the bridge in Koroužné, at the foot of a steep, wooded slope and to the right of the road from Koroužné to Vír. Its entrance is closed by metal doors; the front section is flooded to a depth of up to one metre.

Důl sv. Felixe (Zemanovo pole) preserves the remains of silver ore mining in Koroužné. The entrances have now completely collapsed and are partly filled with waste. The surviving traces include a shaft subsidence about ten metres in diameter, the remains of an inclined shaft and large spoil heaps.

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity stands in Švařec. It is an original miners’ place of worship from the 13th century that has survived to the present day with only a few later structural alterations. It is a state-protected immovable cultural monument, regarded as a unique example of vernacular sacred architecture, and is closely connected with local mining.

There is also a covered wooden bridge near Švařec. It is 22 metres long and two metres wide, was repaired in 1982 and is currently considered to be in good technical condition.

Nature and Trails

The Švařec National Nature Monument protects a valuable complex of submontane meadows and pastures with scattered junipers on a steep south-facing slope in the Svratka Valley, on the right bank of the Brťovský stream near Švařec.

The Svratec Water Management Educational Trail runs from Dalečín through the Svratka Valley to Švařec. After the section at the Vír II Reservoir, it leads through Koroužné and Švařec.
