Culture and History

Hostačov Castle is classified as a protected cultural monument. It was built after the mid-16th century on the site of a Gothic fortress or Gothic manor house. Heřman Bohdanecký of Hodkov bought the fortress in 1557 and gradually converted it into a castle.

The original buildings at Hostačov included an estate farm, a brewery, an inn, and a fortress. The castle has a courtyard surrounded on three sides by arcades of pillars on both the ground and upper floors. From 1846, the Hostačov estate included a sugar factory, described as one of the first in the Čáslav region.

Park and Recreation

Today, the Hostačov grounds cover 12 hectares of parkland. The grounds include woodland paths for walking. The Hostačov disc golf course is located immediately next to Hostačov Castle.

The disc golf course is primarily designed for competitive players; complete beginners can also play on the first nine holes. Daily opening hours run from 7 a.m. until dusk, and a reservation is required.

Events

Hostačov's event program includes multi-day research retreats and training sessions with overnight stays in spring and autumn. In summer, Hostačov opens its grounds to festivals, conferences, and weddings. For outdoor events, the grounds offer space for up to 250 people in summer.

Hostačov is approximately 70 minutes from Prague by train or car.
