Česká Bělá: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Česká Bělá combines a villagescape shaped by cultural history with signposted trails, hilly cycling routes and scenic destinations in the surrounding area and farther afield. The chateau park and the history of medieval ore mining reveal further specific facets of the village.

Culture and history

The Church of St Bartholomew in Česká Bělá is an immovable cultural monument. Its origins lie in the Gothic period of the 14th century; the nave was remodelled in 1734 based on an earlier design by J. Santini. The Baroque Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers on Šibeniční hora dates from 1762.

The landscape around Česká Bělá also bears traces of the past: the ore veins along the Počátky–Česká Bělá axis were mined in the Middle Ages in their most productive sections.

Nature and landscape

The mountains of Vysoká and Světka are located around Česká Bělá. The Ševcův kopec hill is in the immediate vicinity, while Mount Rosička lies in the wider regional area. The landscape setting therefore ranges from destinations nearby to mountains farther away in the wider region.

A Jeffrey pine grows in the chateau park of Česká Bělá and is considered to have high scientific and aesthetic value. The chateau park complements the village’s landscape highlights with this expressly recognised Jeffrey pine.

Cycling and hiking

Two hilly road routes for road bikes and trekking bikes pass through Česká Bělá. The Chotěboř–Vepříkov–Dolní Krupá–Česká Bělá–Chotěboř route is moderately difficult and 41.5 km long. The Rušinov–Chotěboř–Česká Bělá–Havlíčkův Brod–Šlapanov route is rated difficult and covers 45 km.

A short, easy hike also starts in the centre of Česká Bělá. The trail is marked with a yellow tourist trail marking.

By the water

At the Českobělská Neckiáda on 9 August 2025, unconventional watercraft competed against one another in several disciplines on Prokšův rybník.

The Orlík ruins are also located in the wider regional area around Česká Bělá. Smetanovy sady, a park, are also situated there.
