Habry: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the historic centre of Habry, northwest of the main square, stands the former synagogue. It was built in 1825 or 1828 with a distinctly Neoclassical exterior and, following its conversion into a cinema, retains essentially its original enclosing walls and roof structure.

Culture

In Habry, visitors can tour the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. About two kilometres from the town, Habry’s Jewish cemetery is located on Březová alej, a protected landscape area. It features preserved Baroque and Neoclassical gravestones.

History

Táborec is associated with the military camp of Jan Žižka and his army in 1422. Táborec is home to a large stone seat on which the military commander Jan Žižka is said to have rested. During the Přemyslid era, the historic Haberská stezka connected the Znojmo region with Prague and passed through Habry.

With an area of 13 hectares, Haberský rybník is a defining landscape feature of Habry.

The cycling tour from Chotěboř via Vepříkov to Světlá nad Sázavou passes through Habry.
