The first written mention of Kunemil dates back to 1310.

History

The remains of the former fortress are visible in Kunemil. The Kunemil fortress is mentioned as abandoned in 1591. In 1919, liberty linden trees were planted in Kunemil. The monument to the men from Kunemil who fell in the First World War was unveiled in 1923. 18 citizens of Kunemil did not return from the First World War.

Nature

The cadastral area of Kunemil is part of the designated protected nature site “Sázavka – lower course”. In this protected nature site, the Roman snail (Helix pomatia) is listed as a recorded species. Near the hamlet of Na obci in Kunemil, a marsh is recorded as a habitat of Calla palustris.

Getting Around

The 29 km-long cycling route “To the birch alley at Kysibelský Dvůr” passes through Kunemil. The 27 km-long cycling route “To Číhošť” runs from Sázavka via Kunemil to Josefodol. A bus connection is listed for Kunemil.
