Stříbrné Hory: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Stříbrné Hory combines the history of silver mining with old trade routes, protected monuments and hiking trails through the region. One of the most notable landmarks is the Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria: it was first mentioned in writing in 1265, although according to the document from that time it had already been built many years earlier. The church was probably founded by German miners who mined silver ore in its vicinity.
Culture and history
The mining heritage is also present in several places. The Dolní Dvůr site is part of a silver-mining area featuring the Pekelská Gallery, the Růženina Gallery, as well as the remains of mining pits and spoil heaps. Work had already begun in the Rosa (Růženina) Gallery in 1503. The 1688 mine register gives the length of the gallery as 104 metres; a second mine register from 1691 records an extension to 214 metres.
The Peklo Gallery is a 527-metre-long mine tunnel with a flooded lower level. In 1990, it was declared a state-protected monument and is not open to the public. The Rosa (Růženina) Gallery is also state-protected and not open to the public.
Geographical location
The Kamenný most stands near the confluence of the Borovský stream and the Sázava. The stone bridge is dated to the 14th or 15th century; it is currently protected as a monument. The Kamenný most stood on the road to Polná, which was an important branch of the historic Haberská Trail.
Stříbrné Hory railway station is located on line 250 between Havlíčkův Brod and Tišnov or Brno. The Pekelská Gallery can be reached via a dirt road that branches off to the left from the Stříbrné Hory–Přibyslav road about 0.5 kilometres beyond Stříbrné Hory.
Hiking
The red-marked Cesta Karla Havlíčka Borovského hiking route leads from Havlíčkův Brod via Stříbrné Hory, Žižkovo Pole, Havlíčkova Borová and Krucemburk to Kameničky, and from there continues to Kutná Hora. In 1935, it was the first hiking route marked by the Klub českých turistů.
Another connection is the 13-kilometre Krajem husitů hiking route. It leads from Pohled via Stříbrné Hory, Pod Kateřinou and Žižkovo Pole with the Žižkova mohyla to Přibyslav.
