Knyk: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Knyk originated as an agriculturally oriented village in the 14th century. The village, originally named Pfaffendorf, is documented for the period from 1445 to 1472; the first written mention of Knyk dates from 1472.

A census from 1651 recorded nine independent families, two subordinate families, and a total of 46 people in Knyk.

Paths and Bodies of Water

The Park Budoucnost–Vlkovsko educational trail is 3 kilometres long and begins at the Cihlářský Pond. The pond cascade from Park Budoucnost through Vlkovsko ends in Knyk at Knycký Pond. The yellow-marked trail through Vlkovsko also reaches Knyk at Knycký Pond.

The Havlíčkův Brod–Chotěboř cycle route passes through Knyk and Český Dvůr and is 56 kilometres long.

Landscape and Surroundings

Mount Vysoká is located in the surroundings of Knyk. In the immediate vicinity of Knyk are the hill “(Velkohuby) [Knyk-Český Dvůr]” and Horní Chlum Hill [Lučice].

In the wider regional surroundings of Knyk are the ruins of Orlík, Mount Melechov, Želivský Kláštor Monastery, and Smetanovy sady Park.
