Culture

In the centre of Dlouhá Ves stands the Church of Saint Nicholas on cemetery grounds, which also include a mortuary. It was built around 1260 as a single-nave Gothic structure with a rectangular floor plan and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. An unusually large number of medieval or Gothic Revival sculptures from various iconographic traditions and stylistic periods have been preserved in the church.

Dlouhá Ves was founded in 1256 during the colonisation of the region on the left bank of the Sázava by the Teutonic Order. In the northern part of the village stands the reconciliation stone; near Mlýnský rybník, it bears an engraved paw cross.

Nature

The Sázava forms part of the northern boundary of the cadastral area of Dlouhá Ves. There are numerous small water basins along the Dlouhoveský stream and its tributaries, often arranged in cascades. The bed of the Dlouhoveský stream and its tributaries is predominantly natural and meandering.

Getting Around

Dlouhá Ves can be reached from Havlíčkův Brod via Class III road no. 03815. Bus services can be used in the direction of Havlíčkův Brod and Přibyslav.

The village lies on a cycle route connecting Havlíčkův Brod and Přibyslav. In the immediate vicinity of Dlouhá Ves, you can cycle on forest paths towards Šlapanov and Dvorek. Cycle route 19 is suitable for mountain bikes and trekking bikes.
