Uhelná Příbram: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The charcoal kiln model in Uhelná Příbram commemorates the local production of charcoal and its historical deliveries to the smelters and the mint in Kutná Hora. It was ceremonially unveiled in October 2014.

History

Charcoal production in Uhelná Příbram and its surrounding area experienced a boom in the mid-13th century. The historic Liběcká route also ran through Uhelná Příbram.

Architectural Heritage

On the northern edge of Uhelná Příbram, below Strážný vrch, stands the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. It has a Baroque appearance dating from the late 18th century and stands on the site of an original Gothic building. Part of the Gothic reconstruction dates from the third quarter of the 14th century.

Near the church stands the late Baroque vicarage of Uhelná Příbram, dating from 1762. It was created by rebuilding an older single-storey vicarage from 1383.

Nature and Trails

A blue-marked hiking trail leads from Uhelná Příbram to Zkamenělá řeka. The rock formation Kobylí hlava lies in the vicinity of Uhelná Příbram, along the route to Zkamenělá řeka.

Events

In Uhelná Příbram, the Sokolský běh republiky includes a 4.5 km cross-country/trail course and was held there in October 2023, 2024 and 2025. Construction of Sokolovna Uhelná Příbram began on 31 August 1936; the ceremonial opening took place on 14 July 1938. Sokol, fire brigade and hunting association balls, children's events and community meetings are held annually at Sokolovna.

Uhelná Příbram can also be reached by road from the direction of Chotěboř, Vilémov and Jeřišno.
