Rozsochatec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the castle park of Rozsochatec stand two yew bushes whose age is estimated at 900 to 1,000 years.

Culture and History

Rozsochatec Castle is listed as a cultural monument. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1714 stands on the dam of the castle pond. Two remarkable, freely growing small-leaved lime trees grow north of the castle grounds; their age is estimated at around four centuries.

At the southern edge of Rozsochatec stands a wayside cross stone with a relief of a cross and a partially legible inscription. It commemorates the killing of a young man on 4 April 1648. Another historical trace leads to the Rozsochatská huť glassworks: it is first documented in Rozsochatec in 1786 and was abandoned in 1794 or shortly thereafter.

Paths through the Landscape

A yellow-marked hiking trail passes through Rozsochatec and connects Havlíčkův Brod with Chotěboř. A green-marked hiking trail leads from Lysá via Rozsochatec and Česká Bělá to Havlíčkova Borová. In the vicinity of Rozsochatec, a yellow-marked route also leads to Ronovec Castle; the route is approximately 3 km long.

Rozsochatec has a railway halt on the line from Havlíčkův Brod to Chotěboř.

Events and Agritourism

The Pivní pochod Rozsochatec takes place on 26 September 2026 along an approximately 20 km route from Rozsochatec via Chrast, Břevnice, Ždírec and Jilemník back to Rozsochatec.

At the “Penzion na zámku”, holidaymakers can, among other things, go horse riding, hunt game and fish as part of the agritourism activities.
