Věž: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The castle in Věž has a Neoclassical main façade with triangular gables and three-axis projections with balconies. It was built as a Baroque manor house at the end of the 17th century; construction presumably took place around 1700. It is also protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Park and village centre

Věž Castle Park includes a greenhouse and a barn. The park was revitalised in 2014 and is used by the public for recreation. To the north, the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk with a fire station adjoins the castle park; it stands in the centre of Věž, the year 1893 is displayed on its façade, and it was built in 1730.

Chapel building

The Chapel of Christ the King was built in the second half of the 1920s in a style imitating the Early Gothic period. It was built by the then owners of Věž Castle, the Stangler family. Beneath the chapel is a crypt where members of the Stangler family were buried.

Landscape and surroundings

The Orlík ruins are located in the vicinity of Věž. The Špičák, Vysoká and Melechov mountains are also nearby. The U kapličky [Boňkov] hill is located in the immediate vicinity of Věž. In the wider region around Věž are Želivský Kláštor Monastery, the Church of Svatá Anna and Smetanovy sady Park.
