Podolí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
A striking testament to the local history of Podolí is the rock known as Gohialův kámen. A cross, a skull, the name Gohial and the year 1785 are carved into the rock. It lies near the Bobrůvka River on the road towards Bobrová. It commemorates a tragic event in which a stone killed one of the stonemasons who made stone troughs there.
Culture and History
The village’s commemorative heritage also includes the memorial plaque for legionnaires in Podolí, which was unveiled on 9 October 2011. The regional architectural heritage is also clearly defined: Podolí belongs to the “Horácký dům” regional folk architecture zone (“House of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands”).
Landscape
Podolí lies in the “Novoměstsko–Bystřicko” landscape character area. The mountains Ambrožný and Dědkovská hora are located in the surroundings of the village. The mountains Babylon and Víckov are situated in the wider regional area.
Hiking and Cycling Routes
Several routes pass through or extend into the municipal territory of Podolí. The signposted Mlynářská stezka runs through the village along roads III/36041 and III/3884. A section of the Okolím Bobrové educational trail extends into the south-eastern part of the municipal territory of Podolí.
Podolí is also connected to two cycling routes. The “Mezi rybníky a lesy” cycling route passes through Podolí, Radešínská Svratka and Řečice. As a signposted cycling route, it is marked with blue arrows and the number 2. The charity cycling tour “SE ŽĎASEM NA KOLE DĚTEM ŽĎÁRSKÝMI VRCHY” also passed through Podolí.
