Osové: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Almost half of Osové’s cadastral area consists of extensive forest complexes, especially in the south and west. The landscape therefore shapes the town just as distinctly as its bodies of water and natural features.
Landscape and nature
The Oslava runs along the eastern boundary of Osové’s cadastral area. The Nesměřské údolí valley, which is particularly valuable in terms of landscape and natural features, lies along the Oslava. North of the built-up part of Osové, the Osovák pond lies on an unnamed tributary of the Oslavička.
Osové lies in an area of great landscape value that is used for recreation. The municipality is home to the registered Libenice VM002 locality for specially protected species and regionally significant biotopes; it comprises remnants of a mixed forest with species-rich ground vegetation. The Osové municipality is also home to the “Dub v Nesměři” memorial tree.
History
The first written mention of Osové dates back to 1354.
Trails and activities
The “Balinského a Nesměřského údolí” educational trail runs through Osové’s cadastral area. The JK Hort horse-riding center in Osové (Osové 12) specializes in Western riding, horseback riding, show jumping and agritourism.
A planned 8-km connecting loop trail was to run from Baliny via Osové to the “Panské hájence” forester’s lodge in Nesměř.
