Netín: Apartments and Holiday Homes

The first written mention of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Netín dates back to 1414. The monumental Neo-Gothic crypt of the Lobkowicz family was built between 1869 and 1871 based on a design by the architect Augustin Prokop.

Culture and History

A chapel in the crypt of the Lobkowicz family has a three-aisled interior. The Stations of the Cross leading to the crypt comprise 14 stone chapels, and the path there is lined with an avenue of mature lime trees. Each station features a folk-style painting depicting Christ’s Way of the Cross to Golgotha. The Chapel of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows in the crypt may be accessible on special occasions, such as during the Night of Churches.

Dědkovská hora mountain lies in the immediate vicinity of Netín. The surrounding area also includes Panský kopec, Ambrožný, and Hradiště mountains.

Hiking and Cycling

A green-marked hiking trail leads from the tourist signpost in Netín’s village square to the summit. The trail is 5.2 kilometres long, takes about an hour and a half on foot, and involves an ascent of 246 metres.

The cycling loop “Through the Landscape of Ponds and Pilgrimage Sites around Křižanov” is rated as moderately difficult, runs through hilly terrain, and is suitable for recreational cyclists.
