Dobra Voda: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A special feature of Dobra Voda can be found in the Šebeň nature monument: here, the wood ant species Formica polyctena protects more than 1,100 nests. Šebeň is also home to the largest known contiguous complex of nests of this wood ant species in the Czech Republic.

Nature

The Dobrá Voda nature monument covers 5.21 hectares. It consists of preserved wet meadows along the Mastník stream, where, among other species, the broad-leaved marsh orchid and bogbean can be found. 53 bird species have been recorded in the Dobrá Voda protected area, including six specially protected species.

The Šebeň nature monument is located in the cadastral area of Dobrá Voda u Křižanova, within a 134-hectare complex of fir-beech forests on acidic soils.

Things to do

The Šebeň educational trail is 3 km long. A guide to the Šebeň educational trail is available at the information centre in Velké Meziříčí.

Cycle route no. 5240 runs through Dobrá Voda and continues to Vídeň.

Culture and history

The Chapel of St Cyril and St Methodius is part of the local history. Its construction began in 1877 on the site of a former bell tower and a municipal shepherd's house, which later served as the first school. The chapel was built in 1878 on the site of a former bell tower.
