Chotěbudice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chotěbudice is located 5 km north of Jemnice in the southeastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. A find indicates that the settlement existed at least 200 years before its first written mention in 1351.

History and Culture

In 2008, fragments of graphite pottery dating from the 11th to 12th century were discovered during an archaeological survey carried out in connection with the reconstruction of field roads. There are also Type II archaeological sites in the central part of Chotěbudice. Local culture includes the Chapel of St. Wenceslas, dedicated to Saint Wenceslas. The war memorial in Chotěbudice commemorating those who fell in the First World War was created by Jaroslav Šlezinger.

Geographical Location

Horka is designated as a notable viewpoint in Chotěbudice and lies in the southwestern or western part of the municipality.

Cycling

The cycling loop “Around the Mills on the Moravian Thaya to the Royal Town of Jemnice” runs via Dačice – Staré Hobzí – Jemnice – Chotěbudice – Budíškovice – Bílkov – Dačice. The Jihlava–Třebíč–Raabs cycle path also passes through Chotěbudice.

Landscape

The Chotěbudický mlýn settlement stands on the Želetavka River. The Sedliště valley reservoir was built in the municipality of Chotěbudice, north of the built-up area of Chotěbudice. Only part of the area around Kukáč Hill is forested.
