Vlčatín combines a distinctive landscape feature with a long history: the Oslavička River flows through the village, which was first mentioned in writing in 1296.
Landscape and Views
North of the settlement is a notable viewpoint facing east. Another prominent elevation lies northwest of Vlčatín: Hradisko Hill preserves the ramparts of a former fortification.
History and Architectural Heritage
The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Vlčatín was built in 1910 on the site of a bell tower dating from 1894 and consecrated on 16 October 1911.
The former fortified Hradisko was surrounded by a double ring of ramparts and ditches. Preserved sections and traces show their course, including in the southeast and northeast. The earthwork at Vlčatín is heavily overgrown with emerging vegetation and attracts only a few visitors.
Memorial Sites
The memorial to Jan Zahradníček is located on Road No. 360 between Rudíkov and Oslavička, not far from the Rudíkov railway stop. The memorial plaque to Jan Zahradníček and the wayside shrine memorial were erected in 1992.
Railway and Orientation
Regional railway line No. 252 from Křižanov to Studenec runs through the built-up area of Vlčatín. Vlčatín has a railway stop.
