The parish church of St. Martin stands on a slight elevation on the eastern edge of Čáslavice, in the middle of the cemetery. The single-nave longitudinal building has a square tower aligned with the axis of the west façade. A 430-kilogram Martin bell hangs in this tower; it was cast in 1681 by the Znojmo bell founder Rocken.

Culture and history

The site of the church dates back to around 1200, when a Romanesque farmstead with a church and a residential building was established here. By around 1250 at the latest, the chancel was rebuilt in the Gothic style. The development of Čáslavice as a market town is also part of the local history: in 1864, Čáslavice was elevated to the status of a městys and received market rights in 1885. However, the markets were soon discontinued because there was no interest in them.
