Mladoňovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The remains of a medieval fortress have been preserved in Mladoňovice. The Chapel of Saint Florian with a large stone cross is a landmark of the village.

Culture and History

Petr Mladoň was born in Mladoňovice in 1390 and elected rector of the university in 1439. An exhibition about Petr Mladoň is housed in a former poorhouse next to the municipal office. It contains collections on the history of the municipality, archaeological finds from its surroundings, and other historical records about the municipality.

Pilgrimage and Water

The settlement of Dobrá Voda belongs to the municipality of Mladoňovice and lies 1 km south of the main village. Road II/408 from Jemnice to Znojmo runs through Dobrá Voda. The pilgrimage Chapel of the Name of the Virgin Mary is located on a hill above the chapel with the spring and is connected to it by a staircase.

The so-called Water Chapel in the settlement of Dobrá Voda was built in the mid-18th century, probably between 1725 and 1745, and has been protected as a historic monument since 1958. A spring emerges from a pipe beneath the niche of the Water Chapel in the faced wall and flows away through a channel in the floor.

Dobrá Voda has been a place of pilgrimage since the 18th century. The pilgrimage in Dobrá Voda takes place on the Sunday after the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, which the Roman Catholic Church celebrates on 12 September.

The Asuán fishpond covers 6,000 m² and offers opportunities for local recreation.
