Studnice: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Studnice is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands; its highest peak is Studnická strážnice, at 509 m above sea level.

Landscape

Dolní rybník is one of the two ponds in the centre of Studnice. The Oslava runs along the northeastern cadastral boundary of Studnice through a picturesque wooded valley.

Exploring Studnice

Road III/36056 connects Budišov with Rohy and Oslavička via Kundelov and Studnice. Cycle route 5206 runs through Studnice between Oslava and Budišov. The 40 kilometre-long “Podél řeky Oslavy” cycle route also passes through the village: it leads from Oslava via Studnice and Kundelov to Budišov, then continues through other villages back to Náměšť nad Oslavou. The route can be shortened; it is possible to return by train from Budišov or Kojatín.

Culture and History

The chapel in Studnice has a bell dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In 1481, Konrád z Miroslavě, Berta z Kokor and their son purchased the village of Studnice with its farm and appurtenances; Konrád apparently built a fortress there. After it ceased to serve as a manor residence, the fortress soon fell into ruin.

Řihákův mlýn dates from around 1640. The building of Řihákův mlýn is a cultural monument. Řihákův mlýn, formerly Hamžův mlýn, stands on the right bank of the Oslava between Dolní Heřmanice and Studnice.
