Petrůvky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the entrance to Petrůvky from the direction of Třebíč lies the larger village pond, Horní rybník. Since its extensive reconstruction in 2008, it has been used for fish farming and recreation.

Nature and Bodies of Water

The wetlands of Petrůvky provide refuge and a source of water for many forest animals and other living creatures. At Horní rybník, visitors can observe amphibians, grass snakes, dragonflies, mallards and songbirds.

History and Culture

A stone cross stands in the village square of Petrůvky; the monument to those who fell in the First World War stands at the crossroads by the fire brigade association on the village square and is a granite monument erected in 1917 on a sandstone pedestal. From 1519 to 1846, Petrůvky belonged to the municipal hospital in Třebíč.

The stone cross was made by Jan Uhlíř in Sedlejov near Telč. During Masopust in Petrůvky, the masked participants were served refreshments at the houses, including snacks, open-faced sandwiches, assorted platters, schnitzels, savoury and sweet strudels, cakes, doughnuts, spirits and other food.

Geographical Setting

The mountains of Hardeky, Klučovská hora, Hošťanka and Záhoří, as well as the Church of Svatý Marek, are located in the vicinity of Petrůvky. The ruins of Rabštejn lie in the wider regional surroundings of Petrůvky, while the Church of Svatá Markéta is located near the village.
