Kozlany is located in a varied landscape of rounded hills covered with mixed forests, rocky areas, broad valleys, ponds, and streams. The Jihlava River and the Dalešice Reservoir, as well as the valleys of the Oslava and Chvojnice rivers, are defining features of the area.

Babí hora mountain is located near Kozlany. The surrounding area also includes Horka mountain, Křemel mountain, and Záhoří mountain.

Trails and Water

The area around Kozlany is crisscrossed by marked hiking and cycling trails; the terrain is suitable for walks, excursions, and fishing. A 1.5 km hiking trail connects the trail junction near Kozlany with Kozlovské skály.

Cycle Route 5207 passes through Třesov, Kozlany, and Koněšín before continuing back to Vladislav. The route around the Dalešice Reservoir offers a shorter circuit of approximately 26.9 km and a longer circuit of approximately 42.8 km.

The route around the Dalešice Reservoir follows the traces of flooded mills and mysterious ruins of former medieval castles. It continues to the Letecké muzeum.

“V Lavičkách” near Kozlany is designated as a bathing spot.

History and Culture

Kozlov Castle was probably built in the 14th century and destroyed around 1440. The Rabštejn ruins are located near Kozlany, while the Tempelštejn ruins are in the wider surrounding region.

The Church of Svatý Marek and the Myslibořice château park are also located near Kozlany.
