Odunec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Odunec combines local history with streams, ponds and a variety of opportunities for excursions. The Chapel of the Holy Family was first consecrated in 1910 and has recently been renovated. Odunec is also home to a former Baroque manor house.

Culture and Local History

The ruins of Rabštejn and the Church of Svatý Marek are located near Odunec. Myslibořice Castle Park is in the immediate vicinity, while the ruins of Tempelštejn are located farther away in the surrounding region.

Landscape and Water

West of Odunec, a stream flows from the direction of Zárubice into the Mocla. A second stream rises from springs near Svatochen and feeds the upper pond in Obora. Mount Skalný (GSM trans.) is located near Odunec. The mountains of Stříbrná hora, Záhoří and Hardeky are located in the vicinity of Odunec.

The landscape around Odunec is considered picturesque and is ideal for excursions. In the settlement of Hubertův dvůr, which belongs to the municipality of Odunec, there are views of the surrounding countryside.

Paths and Activities

Near Odunec, there is a bike tour of around 12.6 km around the Dalešice Reservoir, with a low level of difficulty; it includes cycle routes 401, 5110, 5107 and 5175. The 38.48 km-long “Z Dalešic přes Lipník” cycle route also passes through Odunec. It is classified as easy and is suitable for trekking bikes.

The area around Odunec is suitable as a starting point for hikes and bike tours to the surrounding castles, châteaux and fortified manor houses. A grass sports field is located near the municipal pond in the Obora recreational area. There is also a fenced-in, freely accessible children’s playground near the Chapel of the Holy Family.
