Kramolín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kramolín is associated with several clearly distinct themes: the Dalešice Reservoir, technological history, archaeological traces, and the new Dřínová hora Nature Reserve.

Getting Around

The Horáčko excursion boat is based at Kramolín Harbour and departs from there for trips on the Dalešice Reservoir. Kramolín Harbour is located approximately 200 metres from the dam of the Dalešice Reservoir and approximately 50 metres from the Kramolín Information Centre.

Cycle Route 5107 runs along the Dalešice Reservoir to the dam and Kramolín. Cycle Route 5108 leads to Kramolín via Popůvky. There are also several cycling and hiking trails near the Dalešice Reservoir.

Culture and History

The Dalešice pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant was built between 1970 and 1978 in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Kramolín on the Jihlava River. The pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant has an information centre that is open to the public. The main attraction of the Dalešice pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant’s information centre is an illuminated model of the pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant.

The Kramolín hillfort contains settlement traces dating from the Neolithic to the Middle and Late Hillfort periods. Today, the hillfort lies beneath the waters of the Dalešice Reservoir. It is currently registered as a protected archaeological feature.

The stone Babylon lookout tower, built in the Empire style, was erected in 1831 by the owner of the Náměšť estate, Count Jindřich Vilém Haugwitz, for surveying work. Babylon is one of the oldest lookout towers in the Czech Republic and stands near Kramolín. Its observation room is 18 metres high and has windows, a telescope, and a ceiling decorated with zodiac motifs.

Nature

Dřínová hora is a new nature reserve in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Kramolín. The area of Dřínová hora is an important example of a mosaic structure comprising thermophilous forest communities and rock-steppe vegetation. Tourist infrastructure such as cycle paths or rest areas cannot be built in Dřínová hora; walks through the forest are compatible with the area.
