Nature and Bodies of Water

Within the municipality of Studenec, bodies of water cover 39 hectares. These include ponds in the village and a pond system near Studenec railway station.

Culture and History

The first written references to Studenec date from autumn 1101. Studenec was one of the settlements that the monastery founders Oldřich of Brno and Litold of Znojmo donated to the Benedictine monastery in Třebíč in 1101.

The school building with a bell tower, from which the Chapel of St. Wenceslas emerged, was built in 1832. The chapel itself was built between 1914 and 1918 and consecrated on 2 October 2005.

Festivals and Events

The traditional three-day Bartolomějská pouť takes place in Studenec in August. The Bartolomějská pouť includes preparing the máj and an evening dance. On Sunday, it also includes a procession of costumed stárci through the village.

Fishing competitions for adults and children are held at Studený Pond behind the municipal office. The Asociace víceúčelových technických sportů a činností organizes auto and motorcycle markets four times a year.

Studenec railway station is located approximately 2.5 km from the village of Studenec.
