Trebenice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

On the right bank of the Dalešice Reservoir in Třebenice, hiking and cycling through the countryside are particularly recommended. Well-maintained paths and cycle paths run along the entire right bank, and there are also elevated viewpoints overlooking the reservoir.

Geographical location

Třebenice lies southeast of Třebíč on the Třebíč–Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant route, approximately 11 km from Třebíč.

Nature and water

The Dalešice Reservoir is designated as the JIHLAVA 7-8 fishing area. A small forest clearing near the village is home to three endangered plant species: the snowdrop sněženka předjarní, as well as the critically endangered species šafrán karpatský and ladoňka dvoulistá. The cadastral area of Třebenice also contains botanically interesting sites with rare plant species, including brambořík nachový, lilie zlatohlávek, lomikámen cibulkatý and other species.

Cycling

The 51 km-long “Around the Dalešice Reservoir” cycling route passes through Třebenice, Plešice and Chroustov. From Třebenice, it continues via Plešice and Chroustov on road III/35122 to Stropešín. On this route, it is possible to reach Třebenice from the Žleb signpost via an unmarked path.

Culture

The Chapel of Sts Cyril and Methodius in Třebenice is a small Baroque-Classical chapel dating from the 18th century. Its interior features murals with a Cyrillo-Methodian theme and a sculptural group of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The chapel also includes a room set into the ground with a well.

History

Třebenice historically belonged to Holoubek Castle. After the castle fell into decline after 1440, Třebenice became part of the Valeč estate.

Festivals and village life

Every year on 5 July, Třebenice hosts the Cyril and Methodius pilgrimage, together with “zaváděním po vsi”. The event is preceded by a Mass on the village square by the chapel. In January, the local Myslivecké sdružení hunting association holds the traditional Myslivecký ples. On the Saturday closest to Children’s Day (1 June), the Svaz žen women’s association organizes Dětský den, featuring roast suckling pig and competitions for children.
