Častohostice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Častohostice lies on both sides of the upper course of the Jevišovka. The central structure of St. Barbara’s Church is a late Romanesque rotunda.

Culture and History

Two crypts accessible from outside are located beneath St. Barbara’s Church: one for the comital Nimpš family and one for clergy. The side chapels of the church were probably added around the middle of the 18th century. The statue of St. John of Nepomuk currently stands in a small park by a restaurant opposite the chateau and is carved from Upper Austrian shell limestone.

Častohostice was first mentioned in writing as early as 1498, together with a parish. In 1575, it was divided into two parts; the second part of Častohostice was sold to the city of Znojmo in 1585.

Water and Landscape

The revitalized pond complex includes a relaxation area available for local residents. A restored pond was created on cadastral parcel 701/1 to retain water in the landscape.

Meeting Place and Events

Prokešova stodola stands next to the fire station and near the Jevišovka. It serves as a meeting place for people from throughout the village on various occasions; cultural and social events for locals and visitors are regularly held there.

Wine and Music

At a wine tasting hosted by Šabata Winery, the Sylván cimbalom band played; the tasting began at 3 p.m., and the music at 4 p.m. This wine tasting, held on July 8, 2023, was the ninth edition.
