Jasenice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture and History
The Kostel sv. Klimenta Church was probably built between the 10th and 12th centuries. It was an important pilgrimage site; according to tradition, pilgrimages were already taking place there around 1320. The church offers extensive views of the surrounding area.
The Kaple sv. Máří Magdaleny Chapel stands in the centre of Jasenice. According to oral tradition, it is considered older than the church, preserves Romanesque window features, and has a masonry pulpit. A bell hangs in the wooden roof turret; according to credible older reports, it dates from 1494 and can be rung by hand.
Remains with buttresses are visible at the Tvrz Fortress; the outer frontage is 18 metres long. The former manor house of Tvrz Fortress retains one of its originally two entrance gates. The surviving remains show that it was a two-winged Renaissance building.
The Sousoší Kalvárie Calvary ensemble stands on the way to the Kostel sv. Klimenta Church. It is complemented by rustic sculptures of Saint John and the Virgin Mary, created by the local sculptor Přichystal.
