Kladeruby nad Oslavou combines a rich local history with historic buildings, paths and a protected natural area. The development of the village can be traced back a long way.

History

Kladeruby nad Oslavou is first mentioned in written sources in 1368; at that time, the village was called Kladoruby.

A prominent testament to the area's history is the Vlčí Kopec hunting lodge, also known as Heinrichslust. It was built in 1829–1830 by Jindřich Vilém Haugvic of Biskupice and remained in the possession of the Haugvic family until it was nationalised in 1945. The hunting lodge stands on a wooded slope high above the Oslava in the cadastral area of Kladeruby nad Oslavou.

Culture

The Babylon lookout tower was built in 1831 on Zelený kopec in the cadastral area of Kladeruby nad Oslavou by Count Jindřich Vilém Haugwitz. In the viewing gallery, frescoes depict the individual signs of the zodiac.

The local forests also have a historical connection: a monument to the last stag hunted in the estate stands there.

Nature

The Údolí Oslavy a Chvojnice Nature Reserve also encompasses the cadastral area of Kladeruby nad Oslavou. Údolí Oslavy a Chvojnice is classified as a nature reserve and forms part of a site of European importance.

Paths

A route of significant interest to tourists connects Náměšť nad Oslavou with the Vlčí Kopec hunting lodge, passes the Babylon lookout tower and extends as far as the Mohelenská hadcová steppe.

The medieval Haberská cesta ran along Kladeruby. The historic Anina cesta path led from the Vlčí Kopec hunting lodge to Náměšť nad Oslavou Castle and crossed the Oslava.

The history of the area's paths also includes Haugwitzova alej, a designated tree-lined avenue along the road to Vlčí kopec in the cadastral area of Kladeruby nad Oslavou.
