Oponešice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The fortress of Oponešice was first documented in the second half of the 14th century. In the local land-use plan, it is designated as an immovable cultural monument.

Culture and History

After 1542, the originally Gothic fortress ceased to serve as a residence; conversions into an agricultural building subsequently began. The Chapel of St. John and Paul also reflects several construction phases: it was built in 1774, acquired its present appearance through renovation in 1884, and is one of the monuments in Oponešice.

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands among the lime trees in Oponešice village square. It dates from 1716, formerly stood on the dam of a pond, and is designated in Oponešice as an immovable cultural monument under registration number 33025/7-2951.

Nature

Pekařův dub is a pedunculate oak. It was first placed under protection on 11 August 2010 and is designated as a memorial tree in the Oponešice land-use plan. From Oponešice, access to Pekařův dub follows a field path past Remízek Pond towards the forest and a waterworks building.

The Oponešice land-use plan also designates a significant viewpoint called Vyhlídka.
