Kyškovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kyškovice lies on the right bank of the Elbe, and wine is grown in the village. The Podřipská farma and Galeriér grounds are located directly on the Elbe in peaceful surroundings, surrounded by nature. Galeriér is an art studio and exhibition gallery in Kyškovice.

Art and History

Galeriér is housed in a former hop-drying building. Visitors can view exhibitions there. For a daily fee, Galeriér offers access to painting in a professionally equipped environment and supports beginners with the basics. The rooms can be used for creative work, exhibitions, workshops, courses and vernissages. Galeriér has professional easels, worktables and a complete range of painting equipment on site.

Kyškovice was first mentioned in a written record in 1253. The name Kyškovice is connected with the former Kyškov fortress, which stood on the site of today's Obora. The historic wine-press building housed a wine press dating from 1712 and also served as a place for community gatherings and entertainment for the residents.

The former “U Víchů” inn, now house number 3, was built in 1742. From 1903 to 1955, with the exception of the years of the Second World War, an amateur theatre group performed three to four plays there every year. After the cultural centre was completed in 1957, the group was revived and remained active, with interruptions, until 1991.

Wine, Trails and Landscape

The Polabské stezky za vínem a poznáním trail passes through Kyškovice. Along the trail, there are several information boards providing information about attractive tourist destinations near the route. Several wineries can be visited along the way, and wines from both Bohemian wine-growing sub-regions can be tasted.

From the edge of Hamráček above the banks of the Elbe, there is a view of a long river bend, the Podřipsko plain and the distinctive Říp mountain.

Cycling

The alternative Labská stezka 2A cycling route leads to Kyškovice and passes a hop field in the village. A cycle loop connected to Labská stezka 2A leads from Roudnice nad Labem via Kyškovice to Brzánky. The cycle loop via Kyškovice is 24 kilometres long.

Location and Surroundings

The nearest place with a railway station is Dobříň. Kyškovice can serve as a starting point for trips to the České středohoří tourist region. Kyškovice also has a sports facility.
