Nové Dvory is situated in a historic agricultural landscape whose defining axis is the Ohře River.

Culture and History

The first written record of Nové Dvory dates back to 1451. In Nové Dvory, the Boží muka is designated as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. This listed wayside cross or wayside shrine is located near house number 10 in Nové Dvory and is a stone Renaissance wayside shrine from the second half of the 16th century.

In the municipality of Nové Dvory, the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Chvalín is registered as an immovable cultural monument. Only hidden remains in a courtyard have survived from Novodvorský mlýn.

Landscape and Nature

The planning area of Nové Dvory includes natural assets along the Ohře River, including oxbow lakes and floodplain forest complexes. The Ohře River, which is associated with Nové Dvory, is designated as a European Site of Community Importance in the Natura 2000 network.

The municipality includes the functioning supra-regional biocentre NRBC 2002 Myslivna na Ohři on the NRBK K11 biocorridor. The Čepel stream and the remaining riverside vegetation form a local biocorridor throughout the planning area.

Cycling Paths and Circular Tours

Nové Dvory is connected to the Ohře Cycle Route in regional transport planning. A cycle route connecting the Ohře Cycle Route with the Elbe Cycle Route runs along existing field paths.

A 33.0 km circular cycling tour runs from Roudnice nad Labem via Budyně nad Ohří, Chotěšov, Brozany nad Ohří, Doksany, Nové Dvory and Chvalín back to Roudnice nad Labem. Another 42.0 km circular cycling tour runs from Roudnice nad Labem via Chvalín, Nové Dvory, Doksany, Brozany nad Ohří, Bohušovice nad Ohří, Terezín, Litoměřice, Křešice, Lounky, Černěves and Vědomice back to Roudnice nad Labem.
