Vlastislav: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vlastislav lies on the Modla stream; the tower of Skalka Castle rises above the village on a small basalt outcrop.

Culture

The accessible first and second floors of Zámek Skalka house permanent exhibitions on the history of Vlastislav, beekeeping, historic prams, aircraft models, and fairy tales. Zámek Skalka can be visited via a separate entrance at the round tower on the rock above the castle.

History

The Gothic Skalka Castle dates from the 14th century and was severely damaged during the Thirty Years' War. Only the keep has survived; it is protected as a cultural monument.

The Vlastislav hillfort was already settled in the second half of the 9th century; the fortified area was established in the following century. The greatest concentration of dwellings and other finds was located in the outer bailey area, not on the acropolis.

Near Vlastislav – Na Šancích is a spur site with the remains of an early medieval hillfort dating from the 9th century.

Landscape and Trails

The international tourist route Zlatá stezka zemí hradů runs along the road between Vlastislav and Sutom; from there, a branch leads towards the château and the Skalka castle ruins. There is a direct bus connection from Lovosice to Vlastislav on line 662, operating on weekdays and Sundays.

From the viewpoint below the Skalka tower, there are views of Košťálov, Oltářík, the surrounding hills of the České středohoří, and Milešovka.

Events

Summer festivals were held in the courtyard of the municipal office in Vlastislav on 30 August 2025 and 15 August 2026. Events for burning the witches were held in the courtyard of Zámek Skalka in Vlastislav on 30 April 2024 and 30 April 2025.
