Třebušín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Třebušín combines a distinctive history with a landscape located entirely within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Above the town, the history of Kalich Castle takes center stage: Jan Žižka of Trocnov had it built in 1421 after conquering an earlier fortress and named it after the chalice.

History and Culture

The town center also preserves several historical traces. The oldest written record of Třebušín dates from 1169. The parish church of St. Nicholas was first mentioned in 1384; it was destroyed during the Hussite Wars and restored many years later. Together with its surrounding wall and gate, the church is listed as a cultural monument in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments.

Another testimony to the town's history is the château in Třebušín. It is considered a valuable local monument. Renaissance structures have been preserved in the cellars and on the ground floor of the north wing.

Landscape and Nature

The entire municipal area of Třebušín lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Its defining features include the unique relief of a young Tertiary volcanic mountain range, diverse geology, and a species-rich plant life and distinctive wildlife. From Kalich Castle, there are views of Třebušín, Litoměřice, and the Elbe lowlands.

The natural area also includes Sedlo, a national nature reserve covering 54.3284 hectares. The entire geobiocoenosis is protected there.

Trails and Water

The long-distance hiking trail Zlatá stezka Zemí hradů passes through the Třebušín area. Several cycling routes also run through the area. South of Třebušín lies Machčák Pond, which is used for recreation; swimming is possible there at your own risk.
