Černěves: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of St Procopius has an originally Romanesque rectangular nave, a four-sided chancel and a prismatic tower on the axis of the western façade. In the following century, an Early Gothic chancel and a sacristy were added to the building. The cemetery gate near the Church of St Procopius is probably Early Baroque.

Culture

The Černěves archaeological area is classified under the categories of settlement, burial ground, village and church. The Church of St George is located in the surroundings of Černěves. The historic site “Theresienstadt concentration camp and ghetto” is also located nearby.

At the northern edge of Černěves stands a cross that serves as a war memorial to the Prussian-Austrian War of 1866. Its inscription states that it was made by a farmer from Černěves in memory of those who fell in 1866. The ruins of Hazmburk and Zámek Ostrov Castle are located in the wider surrounding region.

Nature

Černěveský luh is a preserved part of the original Elbe floodplain forest. Pedunculate oaks and black poplars dominate the upper storey of Černěveský luh. The pedunculate oak “Dub letní na rozcestí” stands on a triangular lawn where three paths meet.

Mount Sovice lies in the immediate surroundings of Černěves. The mountains of Hořidla, Lada and Vidrholec are located nearby.

Cycle Path

Černěves lies on the Elbe Trail. The section of the Elbe Trail passing through Černěves is cycle route no. 2 and part of EuroVelo 7.
