Libochovice Castle was built between 1683 and 1690 in the early Baroque style by the Italian architect Antonio della Porta. On January 1, 2002, it was declared a national cultural monument.
Culture
The present-day Baroque Church of All Saints in Libochovice was built between 1700 and 1705 on the site of an older Gothic church destroyed by fire. It features a ceiling painting called “Bohemian Sky,” depicting Bohemian saints. The church stands immediately next to Libochovice Castle and contains a lapidarium of Baroque sculptures, most of which were created by Bartoloměj Ederer.
Libochovické divadelní léto is an amateur theater competition that has taken place without interruption since 1958. The Jewish cemetery in Libochovice is protected as a cultural monument.
