Culture and local history
Construction of the Protestant church in Libkovice pod Řípem began in 1852; it was consecrated on 4 November 1855. The church was the first Protestant church in Bohemia with a tower and bells. The Protestant cemetery was opened on 5 November 1855, one day after the ceremonial opening of the church.
The listed buildings on the village square include the former farmstead No. 7, which was built in the Neo-Renaissance style. The memorial to the victims of the First World War, bearing the inscription “Obětem války 1914–1918”, also stands on the village square. In the centre of the village, the memorial to the victims of the Second World War commemorates residents of Libkovice who were executed in Prague’s Pankrác Prison on 22 March 1944.
At the site called Na lukách, Krolmus discovered a place described as a pagan place of worship, locally known as Čertův sklep.
