Lovosice: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Lovosice combines cultural monuments and historic buildings with trails, a gallery, and ferry connections. The Mírový Church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church is classified as a cultural monument and is one of the city’s defining urban features.

Culture

The castle in Lovosice, originally built in the Renaissance style, was constructed between 1545 and 1574. The Renaissance castle is currently used for educational purposes. In front of the castle, the site of the demolished farmyard is now occupied by a municipal park with two pavilions.

St. Wenceslas Church is a single-nave, rectangular building with a tower above the façade. Its furnishings are predominantly in the Rococo style and date from the second half of the 18th century.

The Pfannschmidt Villa was built from 1881 and completed around 1887. It preserves restored stucco ceilings, richly decorated ceiling paintings, wood paneling, and a surviving example of an original tiled stove. The historic villa regularly hosts lectures, discussion groups, exhibitions, and concerts. The LOVO Gallery is intended as a space for the development of contemporary art and the presentation of collections by important artists.

Trails and Activities

Lesopark Osmička has two tracks for runners and inline skaters, measuring 500 meters and 1 kilometer. The park also includes a children’s playground and an outdoor fitness area. From there, a cycle path leads to the ferry to Malé Žernoseky.

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Lovosice to Lovoš. A new vessel named Agnes was acquired for the ferry service between Lovosice and Píšťany, offering more space for strollers and bicycles.
