Píšťany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Píšťanské jezero, also called Žernosecké jezero, is an artificially created quarry lake. It was formed in the 1950s and 1960s when water from the Labe seeped in and flooded a former gravel and sand quarry.

Water

The lake is located between Velké Žernoseky, Píšťany and Žalhostice on the right bank of the Labe below the basalt hill Radobýl. It has clear water and comparatively high sandy shores that resemble a seaside beach.

The Marina Labe is located on the shore of Píšťanské jezero. It has a restaurant where guests can sit with a view of Žernosecké jezero.

History

The origins of Píšťany date back to the 11th century. In the past, high-quality sand was intensively mined in Píšťany in large quantities.

Getting around

Cycle Route No. 2, the Labská stezka, leads to Píšťany after a few kilometres. The cycling tour “Na kole k Píšťanskému jezeru a do Oparenského údolí” is approximately 25 km long and runs almost entirely on level ground. It is also suitable for less experienced cyclists and families with children.

The ferry between Lovosice and Píšťany can be used to reach Píšťanské jezero. Ferry service between Lovosice and Píšťany is scheduled to begin on 19 June 2026. For the return journey from the Oparenské Valley to the Labská stezka, the ferry between Lovosice, Park Osmička, and Píšťany can be used.
