Culture and History

The protected area of St. Michael’s Church comprises the church building, the surrounding wall with its gate, and the grounds of the former cemetery. The church is a single-nave building of Romanesque origin that was remodelled in the Gothic period and later altered in the Baroque style. A Gothic bell is estimated to date from around 1400, which could make it the oldest bell made in Moravia.

The mineral exhibition features the largest heliodor crystal in the Czech Republic. Visits are possible by prior arrangement and appointment reservation.

On Site

The Ohrada brewery offers brewery tours led by brewer Martin Kamba, with optional tasting; advance booking is required. The renovated Orlovna also provides locals and visitors with two bowling lanes and billiards.

Exploring the Area

The K obrázku educational trail connects Pamětice and Vísky and ends at the church in Vísky. It is approximately 1.5 km long, easy, and has 12 stops with information panels. The Písečná educational trail is an easy 2.5 km route with 15 stops featuring information panels and also ends at the church in Vísky.

The terrace in front of St. Michael’s Church offers a wide panorama over the Boskovická brázda. A green hiking trail also passes by the church, beginning in Boskovice and continuing to the former Andělka spa. A regional cycling route runs there as well.
