Culture and History

The traditional Ostatky celebrations in Snovídky include a masked procession through the village.

According to Volný, Snovídky were first mentioned in written records in 1360. After Tas z Ojnic became the lord of Snovídky and the Bučovice estate, Snovídky and Bučovice, 8 km to the west, had the same owners.

Hrádek u Snovídek also reflects the locality’s complex history. The abandoned castle probably dates from the Middle Ages, although it may also date back to the Hallstatt period; it is thought to have been destroyed by fire. Hrádek u Snovídek has a ditch up to 10 metres wide and 3 metres deep, as well as a rampart preserved along larger parts of its circumference. The site is designated as freely accessible, with traces of the terrain remaining.

Nature

Beavers have been present along the Kyjovka stream in Snovídky since 2004. The wild animals reported in Snovídky include deer, roe deer, wild boar, pheasants and hares.

An information board at the Bezdýnka spring provides information about the spring and the Bezdýnka educational trail. The spring has running water and is considered easily accessible; it can be reached by bicycle via a path.

Cycling Route

Cycling route 473 (Těšanka) runs from Otrokovice to Rajhradice. It is moderately difficult and follows paved and compacted paths.

Connections and Events

From Snovídky, bus route 650 can be taken via the Nesovice transfer hub to Bohdalice-Pavlovice, followed by routes 156 or 166 to Vyškov.

A summer cinema screening was scheduled for Saturday, 22 August 2026, at 9 p.m. at the ŠUTERŇA SNOVÍDKY grounds in Snovídky.
