Ježkovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The approximately 6 km-long Černov educational trail begins directly opposite the Ježkovice municipal office. It leads through fairly hilly, wooded terrain, while information boards explain historical and natural attractions.

Nature

West of Ježkovice, there has been a hexagonal shelter with a gabion base since 2015. From there, you can look out over the entire village and the recently reconstructed municipal retention basins.

Culture and History

There are seven smaller sacred monuments in the cadastral area of Ježkovice, listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments. In the centre of the village, opposite the municipal office, there is also a bell tower with a bell and a niche containing an image of Saint Florian. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ježkovice was built in 1939.

In the vicinity of Ježkovice, 2 km from the village, lies the Celtic Černov hillfort. It is one of the earliest pieces of evidence of Celtic settlement in the Czech Republic and the only verified site in Moravia dating from the early period of Celtic settlement. The oval hillfort, covering 9.3 hectares and situated on a wooded promontory, is also located in the vicinity of Ježkovice; its fourfold fortification is still visible in the terrain.

The Ježkovice memorial to those killed and missing in the First World War depicts a weeping woman and child looking at a military helmet wrapped in laurel leaves. It lists a total of 36 names. At the edge of Ježkovice, on the road towards Ruprechtov, a stone block in the forest commemorates the surrender of the German army in the Second World War. The history of Ježkovice dates back to 1375.
