Podomí: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Podomí was established during the colonization of the region in the 13th century. Founded as a double-row forest-strip village, the settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1349 – at that time under the name Boda.

History, settlement pattern and memorial sites

The Podomka stream divided the original village and its cadastral area into an eastern and a western part. The eastern part of Podomí was resettled between 1550 and 1567. In 1803, a weaving and spinning manufactory was established on the Podomí estate.

A sandstone monument was erected in 1921 in memory of 15 residents of Podomí who died in the First World War. The monument was later moved from the crossroads in the village centre to the park on the grounds of the new school.

The abandoned settlement of Hamlíkov is located in the cadastral area of Podomí, about 2 kilometres southeast of Podomí. Ten relics have been preserved at the abandoned settlement.

Water and landscape

The Podomský potok stream flows through Podomí and Jedovnice and feeds the Budkovický and Olšovec ponds. The abandoned half of Podomí covers 256 hectares and is three-fifths forested.

The so-called Rájecký rybník pond is located in the area of the abandoned half of Podomí. It is used by people from Podomí, predominantly children and young people, for winter games and sport fishing.

Hiking and sports

The third stage of the Stezka Blanenskem trail begins in Podomí and is also suitable for cyclists. The multi-purpose sports field in Podomí is also regularly used by the public for sports and physical exercise. Private individuals, organizations and groups can rent it.
