Heršpice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
In Heršpice, Hrádek Kepkov is home to the well-preserved relief of a circular castle site. The 27 × 23 metre residential area is fortified by a double rampart and a ditch.
Culture and history
The Catholic Church of St Matthew, built in 1870, stands in the centre of Heršpice. The village’s Protestant church was built between 1864 and 1869. It is also associated with a significant date in the village’s history: on 31 August 1880, Tomáš G. Masaryk joined the Protestant Church in Heršpice.
The abandoned medieval settlement of Konůvky lies in the cadastral area of Heršpice. The visible remains of the foundations of 22 houses have been preserved there. The Tvrz Konůvky complex can be classified as a structure between a manor farm and a fortress. An educational trail with information panels runs through the archaeological site.
Natural environment
The Jalový dvůr natural monument is located around the Heršpický pond and the adjacent forest. The Jalový dvůr protected area was designated to protect the reproduction of several amphibian species in the pond and the occurrence of Pontic-Pannonian plant species.
Cycle route No. 507 runs along the Jalový dvůr natural monument from Ostrov u Macochy into the Ždánický les. From Rašovice or Heršpice, the picturesque meadow valley where the medieval settlement of Konůvky was located can be reached in just under two hours via the valley of the Křižanovický stream.
