Dražovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist in Dražovice was built in 1888–1889 on the site of an older church. Together with the cemetery, enclosing wall, gate, wicket gate and a two-flight staircase, its church grounds form a historic monument complex.
Culture and History
The oldest written mention of the Dražovice parish dates from 1382; at that time, a local priest named Gracius is recorded there. Antonín Cyril Stojan was the parish priest in Dražovice from 1888 to 1908 and completed the construction of the church during that time. The anniversary of the church consecration is observed on 25 August, commemorating the consecration of the church on 25 August 1889.
Below the church stands the Baroque vicarage, built in 1792. Dražovice is also home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1900. 24 June is designated as the feast day of the church's patron saint, Saint John the Baptist.
