Dobročkovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The All Saints Church in Dobročkovice was originally built in the Gothic style in 1348. The church also contains an altar painting by the Brno academic painter Josef Zelený.

History

“Zahrada za obecním hostincem” in Dobročkovice is a precisely delimited archaeological area classified as UAN I. Bronze and gold objects dating from approximately 1800–1500 BC were found in Dobročkovice; they are now housed in the collections of the Moravian Museum in Brno. During work near the new vicarage in 1927–1928, numerous fragments of urns as well as roof tiles bearing the coats of arms of former lords of Dobročkovice were found. A Roman coin provides evidence of traces of Celtic settlement and the Roman-Germanic period in Dobročkovice.

Traditions

The Easter customs of hrkání and mrskút are maintained in Dobročkovice. Hody is considered the town’s most important folklore event and its main opportunity for dancing. The Slovak folk dance verbuňk is also performed in Dobročkovice.

Nature

The “Okolo Dobročkovic” circular route leads through a quiet rural landscape around Dobročkovice and offers views of fields, small patches of woodland and surrounding villages. Due to its gentle incline, the circular route is suitable for recreational cyclists and families with children.
